Synopsis:
And there was enough mystery to keep me turning pages - not so much a whodunit as the unfolding of the characters' pasts and how it contributed to or explained their present.
Overall, this was a solidly interesting book that highlights forgiveness of self and the transformation that comes as people allow God's plans to prevail instead of their own.
While I have read Book #1 of this series as well, both books stand alone just fine. The main male characters of the two books are brothers, so there is just enough interlinkage to get me interested in the entire series.
What I Didn't Like: Nothing!
Thanks to Baker Publishing Group for the review copy of this book.
Can they overcome the past to find a brighter future together?About the Author:
Major Jack Novak has never failed to meet a challenge--until he meets army nurse Lieutenant Ruth Doherty. When Jack lands in the army hospital after a plane crash, he makes winning Ruth's heart a top-priority mission. But he has his work cut out for him. Not only is Ruth focused on her work in order to support her orphaned siblings back home, she also is determined not to give her heart to any man.
As the danger and tension of World War II rise to a fever pitch, Jack and Ruth will need each other more than ever. Can Jack break down her defenses? Or are they destined to go their separate ways?
From the English countryside to the perilous skies over France, A Memory Between Us takes you on a journey through love, forgiveness, and sacrifice.
Sarah Sundin is the author of A Distant Melody and A Memory Between Us. Her great-uncle flew with the US Eighth Air Force in England during WWII. Sarah lives in California with her husband and three children. What I Liked: This book isn't one-sided - it follows the lives and challenges of both the female and male main characters. This enables the readers to really get into the WWII time period - from both a fighter pilot's and a nurse's perspective. I loved the history.
And there was enough mystery to keep me turning pages - not so much a whodunit as the unfolding of the characters' pasts and how it contributed to or explained their present.
