About the Artists:
FFH was originally formed by Jeromy Deibler and Brian Smith in 1991, soon settling into its final configuration when Michael Boggs and Jennifer Deibler, Jeromy’s new bride, joined the band. The band played a final show in September 2006, and after a paradigm shift of sorts, was resurrected with a renewed passion and a new story to tell. What I Liked:
I am absolutely loving that the music of Christmas is back in season again! And this new album is a great way to start it off! FFH delivers a mix of classic and original carols.
The jazzy sounds of "Baby It's Cold Outside" took a little getting used to, but showcased FFH's ability to deliver unique sound.
The realistic sound effects on "Winter Wonderland" are way cool - and I love the mix with Drummer Boy.
The sacred numbers are always my favorite, and FFH delivers a nice selection: original, less familiar, and oft-heard classics in pieces such as "One Silent Night", "Glorious Impossible", and "O Little Town of Bethlehem." It's neat how they tie familiar lines into their original work.
My ABSOLUTE favorite is "The Birthday Of The King." This is one I could put on continuous play and listen to forever... Just a lovely way to sit back and peacefully relax in the midst of a chaotic season, reflecting on the real reason: "And for a moment in time, all of creation joins to sing... our humble hearts the gifts we bring to celebrate the birthday of our King."
