Winning Kids: The Apple Bird

The Apple Bird
and No Bake Apple Snack

The Apple Bird (Cat on the Mat Books)The Apple Bird by Brian Wildsmith

There is nothing more that this hungry bird likes to eat than a plump, juicy apple. But eat too much, and even fat birds get full. This colorful, wordless book follows one bird's apple feast.

We LOVE Brian Wildsmith in this house; his books and illustrations are just so fabulous! This book has been a favorite since my first year as a preschool teacher ages ago. I passed my love of Brian Wildsmith and this amazing little wordless book onto my girls.

No Bake Cinnamon Sugar Apples

Need:
  1. Apples (we used 2)
  2. Peeler and knife
  3. Baggie or bowl with lid
  4. Cinnamon and sugar (we used sugar in the raw)
To Make:
  1. Peel and cube your apples
  2. Place apple cubes in baggie
  3. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top
  4. Seal baggie and shake! :)
  5. Open baggie and eat!
What do you do with all the leftover apple peels and the core of the apple?  Leave it for Apple Bird, of course!  :)

Apple Pie Sensory Tub

Pour a container of old fashioned oats and half a container of cinnamon into a lidded container, add spoons, bowls and measuring spoons and cups, and you have a fun, yummy smelling sensory tub.
