Synopsis:
Sometimes complicated problems have simple solutions.
In Alphatudes: The Alphabet of Gratitude, Michele Wahlder reveals the unexpected and simple secret to living a joyful life: gratitude. In a world obsessed with negativity, we must deliberately choose to focus our attention toward the positive.

The good news is the homework is already done! Alphatudes utilizes your earliest grade school victory—the ABCs—to elicit a sustainable shift in your thinking and outlook on life. This book will help you:
  • Heighten your awareness and appreciation of life’s daily gifts
  • Attract opportunities with a positive mind-set
  • Surmount life’s challenges with a healthy reservoir of gratitude
  • Find the hidden blessings in difficult situations
  • Free yourself from worry, negativity and resentment
About the Author:

Michele Wahlder, MS, LPC, PCC, is an internationally recognized life coach, career counselor, psychotherapist and gratitude enthusiast. She is the founder of Life Possibilities, LLC, a company that champions people to become the highest vision they hold for themselves in their lives, careers and relationships through the vehicles of coaching, seminars and books.
What I Liked:  This is an absolutely gorgeous book.  With full-color photos and quotes and inspirational thoughts, it would make a great gift book for the women in your life.

I love the origins.  Instead of counting sheep during those insomniac moments, why not work through a gratitude list instead?  "Alphatudes" keep you focused and on track as you work through the alphabet...

And the positivity of the book is infectious.  It's realistic, too.  Take the author's Alphatude "A" - Acceptance.  It's not about looking at the world through rose-colored glasses, or about being complacent, but about being grateful for where we are, who we are, rather than where we think we should be and who we think we should be.  The perfect starting-point for gratitude, in my opinion.

I particularly like the prayers included for each Alphatude.  It's a nice way to end a reading and branch off into a conversation with God.

What I Didn't Like:  Honestly, nothing.  If you're one of those people who gets irritated by perpetually positive people (and I am, at times of the month *smile*), this book may irritate you.  But then, you're probably one who can benefit the most!

Thanks to The Cadence Group for the review copy of this book.
