Haven't read any of these, but we've seen the Despereaux movie... This would be fun to read, I think!

They are, and from what I've heard of the movie, the book of Despereaux is so much better. Magician's Elephant is a fun read, the only one I haven't read is Edward Tulane.
She also has a really good book about a dog as I remember, that actually had a happy ending.
