I LOVE lists. I've always thought it would be fun to be a wedding planner - since there are just so many lists involved... And of course, it just seems like such a happy time to be involved in someone's life, too. Here's a fun story about one of those!

Swinging on a Star is written by Janice Thompson. This 331-page paperback is published by Revell and has a list price of $14.99.

Here's how the publisher describes the book:

There's a fine line between ambitious and crazy.

Bella's just not sure where it is.

Bella Rossi's life is nearing perfection. Not only does she have the perfect guy, but she's also running a successful wedding-planning business and is about to plan its most ambitious wedding yet--a Renaissance-themed fairy tale come true, complete with period costumes and foods, horse-drawn carriages, and even a castle. There's only one hitch. The best man just happens to be Hollywood's hottest and most eligible bachelor, and he's showing an interest in Bella. Oh, and did we mention he's staying at her house to avoid the paparazzi?

With all the pressure surrounding this wedding, Bella's not sure she's going to make it through. Add her starstruck sister and her feuding aunt and uncle, and you've got a recipe for disaster--and a lot of laughs.

And the author:
Janice Thompson is a seasoned romance author and native Texan. An experienced wedding coordinator herself, Thompson brings alive in her books the everyday drama and humor of getting married. She is the author of Fools Rush In and Swinging on a Star. She lives in Texas.

A nice, fun book with all the essentials for a good, easy read. Some romance, some surprises, the ocean, movie cameras, paparazzi, jail time, a parrot, and Amazing Grace - with all that grace entails.

I'll be honest and say that the main character, Bella, seems a little too perfect to me. Even with all the crazy events that happened, she still came out of all of them on top - still with the perfect guy and the perfect job. Maybe it's because she could actually follow through on her lists, and I am NEVER able to get through mine! I could relate far better to her starstruck sister, Sophia, with her insecurity issues and all (though I don't have her gorgeous hair :)).

That being said, I loved the plot of this book and the many colorful characters! Aunt Rosa and Uncle Laz stole my heart, not to mention made my mouth water like crazy. I'm looking forward to more books in this series.

Thanks to Baker Publishing Group for the review copy of this book.

  14. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing the book! If you'll stick with the series, you'll see that Bella is far from perfect in the third (and final) book. She faces quite a few challenges in that one and has to depend on those around her to see her through.

    Thanks again!
