Have I mentioned before how much I love lists?! Putting something on a list is the one time in my life I feel organized. Oh, how I love checking things off, too... (And yes, this review is late. And yes, it is on my list. And yes, my list is a bit overwhelmingly long. And yes, I know lists aren't miracle workers. But I love them anyway, because just for a moment, I feel like I'm on top of things!)
A Mom's Ultimate Book of Lists, written by Michelle LaRowe, is a 335-page paperback published by Revell. It has a list price of $13.99.
Here's the publisher's synopsis of the book:

Michelle LaRowe is a national speaker, parenting consultant, and author of the Nanny to the Rescue! series and Working Moms 411. The 2004 International Nanny Association "Nanny of the Year" and a credentialed career nanny for more than twelve years, Michelle has also been lauded for her dedication to improving the quality of in-home child care. This book is chock full of useful lists, so I heartily approve and endorse it! It starts with a list of the lists, and just flipping through the pages and seeing all the bullet points and numbers and checkmarks and italicized headings gives me goosebumps.
Moving on from there, I think the key word for my review is useful. If you've got a toddler, for instance, you'll find a list of toddler toys, a list of books for a good toddler library, and a list of twenty terrific activities for toddlers. And there's more serious stuff, too, like ten life lessons to teach your toddlers, five ways to teach your toddler about God, and easy steps for taming your toddler's tantrums.
Of course, you can't cover each of these topics in depth in one book, so there are even lists of other recommended books! Basically, this is a handy up-to-date reference that covers topics on a surface level, so if you're challenged in a particular area, you'll probably want to dig deeper into the subject with other reading material.
I especially love the lists for saving your sanity, like the section on a momtourage and the list of what makes up a virtuous wife. And I love the recipe ideas. Everything here is very practical.
So while this book, like any other list, is not miraculous in itself, it IS something I believe most moms could use - a handy resource from pregnancy on up.
So I'm busy updating my new iPod Touch with some new list ideas that I've gotten from this book. (If you win the book, it may take a while to get to you while I wrap up some of the lists using my new thumb-typing skills...) Oh, I feel SO VERY organized!
Thanks to Baker House Publishing for the review copy of this book!
This looks fun. I hope I win!

I think to read this will break my heart. I struggle with many of these same issues and I haven't gone through nearly what her family went through. If I don't win, I will probably buy the book anyway. I guess that's the point of a giveaway.

Wow, this is a great tool! I **LIVE** on lists; they keep me going. I never actually finish them, but I roll unfinished business over onto a new list and start over. This and your Desperate Hope giveaway are the first ones in a long time that I think I will buy the book for myself if I don't win.
