AND NOW...THE FIRST CHAPTER:

My Review

People are attracted to positive people. The ones who no matter what circumstance they find themselves in, they can say God has brought them to this point and has them exactly where they need to be.

Yolanda Adams seems to be that kind of person. She writes a positive book, filled with 37 points of power. Each has a story or illustration of the point, a prayer, questions or tips on applying the point to your life, and a power Scripture passage. She's got the answers. Technically, it's a great book for uplifting you on your spiritual journey.

Yet I have a problem relating. I don't see myself as a negative person, but as a realist. There are always multiple sides to an issue, and I am never sure I have the RIGHT answers. I keep trying and striving, and I know God makes up for all my flaws. But I don't have all the answers.

Most extremely positive people I know are sure they are doing the right thing, and then circumstances change, they change their position, and once again they are sure they are doing the right thing, and that their previous position was just a lesson or step in the process. It seems to me like they are fake, or disingenuine, or just not too bright, but I'm learning that they really ARE that way. It still annoys me. It attracts hoards of others, but it annoys me.

I digress. I don't know Yolanda, but I just get that positive vibe from her book that keeps me from relating. Like the spa story - she shares how she loves indulging in spas and how the rainforest shower reminds of her God's cleansing. Never been there myself... Or the Mandela story - there are just too many sides to the Mandela story that aren't shared here.

I suspect this book will bless a lot of people, and I do recommend it, despite my personal issues!
